Engagement Photo Session

About a month ago Justin and I got our engagement pictures taken! We had so much fun and really got to know our photographer Pheobe! We took our pictures at a venue near my house called Lindsey Plantation. I had always seen it from the Road but did not know how gorgeous this place truly was! We also took Paisley with us so we could have our first professional family picture. She surprisingly did extremely well, we were even able to take her off her leash without her running. If you know anything about Paisley then you know that this is a huge deal! When we got our pictures back from Pheobe from Seasons Photography we were extremely pleased with them. I am going to post a few here but they are all on facebook as well as website that I can give if you want to order any of them. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures as much as we do!

Rehersal Dinner Site

I do not know how I forgot to put this information up.  About a month ago we decided on Cherokee Valley Golf Club for our Rehearsal Dinner site.  This is also where I live, so my parents and I have seen this place really grow.  My brother and his wife had their rehearsal dinner here when they got married.  It was beautiful, so of course we started asking about prices and it worked out perfect.  They also now have cottages that are GORGEOUS to stay in.  All of our out of town guests will have to opportunity to stay there.  There is a website so you can see more pictures of the clubhouse as well as the cottages: www.CherokeeValleySC.com .  Check it out it is awesome.

Surprises are My Favorite :)

Today I went into the bridal store to pick up something and I asked if they could see when my dress was going to come in, and what a surprise I had: IT HAD ARRIVED! Of course I didn't look all pretty because I woke up late this morning to go with my mom this morning (can't wait to get home do my hair and make up and try it on again tonight). Anyways, the dress is perfect, I had to order a petite and so now the length is perfect! I cannot wait to try it on for my dad (He hasn't seen it yet). I cannot wait to see the look on his face! I have to make sure that I had it really well, and maybe even get my mom to hide it from me so that I will never be tempted to show it to Justin. This dress really was the one and I cannot wait to wear it on OUR DAY :) It is going to be just perfect.

Oh and we have finally come to the conclusion that this is Marlee's favorite place to go because their are mirrors EVERYWHERE! She thinks that it is the best place on Earth.

Wedding Cakes

On Tuesday, Justin, my mom, and myself went to taste wedding cakes. At the wedding festival this lady was my favorite so of course we tried her first. Holly's cakes was the only one that we even needed to try. She has been making cakes since the 70's so we knew that we were in good hands!! Let's say that her cake designs have surely changed! So normally a cake looks a lot different if it is foundant or butter cream. She is so good that she can get her buttercream to look just like it (which is much better tasting)! Holly's work is incredible and we are so excited that she is going to be baking and designing our cake for us! She has us try 6 different kinds of cakes and man did that make it hard to choose which cake flavors we wanted. Our cake is 4 tiers so each layer is something different. Our guest are going to love the cake I know we did! I really wish that I could put a picture of it up online but it has to be a surprise!! May 21 will be here before we know it so no worries!

P.S. we also got a really great idea for a groom's cake while we were there!

Registering Frenzies

Today we began our registries.... wow is that overwhelming or what!  We went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and also Target.  We had a lot of fun and of course Justin loved registering for all his Kitchenware.  We have a long way to go on the things that we have to register for.  Once we got there we realized we really need to sit down and decided how we are going to decorate the rooms. Today was definitely a lot of fun and made me (as well as Justin) start getting really excited about our future home. :)  Can't wait for the wedding and all the showers to start getting all of our lovely gifts!

PARTY MACHINE!

So a couple post earlier I forgot to mention that we also have hired the Party Machine for our DJ. Wow is he awesome or what! He did my sister's wedding a few years ago and did such an awesome job. He is not just up there to play music; he entertains as well! I know that he is going to make our wedding day so special! I absolutely cannot wait for May 21 to get here

Texas

All last week (June 30- July 6) Justin and I went to Texas to see his family! It was fabulous! This was the first time we had seen them since last July 4th, 2009. On July 4th they have a tradition to going to Uncle Charles' lake house. We were able to show everyone my ring and tell them about all of our wedding plans so far! I was really looking forward to loading pictures of our great times, but somehow the card got messed up on our last night there and now all the pictures are gone. His mom gave me a pair of earrings that are being passed down through the family, it meant the world to me!! I guess I am officially apart of the family :) Justin and I are wanting to make another trip there around Christmas time! I cannot wait to make a lot more memories with his wonderful family!

Busy Week- Lots of Hiring!

Both of us have had an extremely busy week with work and school, but do not worry, Wedding planning was not left out :) On Tuesday my mom and I met with Kim Wehunt with All In The Details. She was such a fun and awesome lady, and now has become our Wedding Coordiator. She has won Bridal's Choice award in 2010 and 2009, which is a very great honor. She came very highly reccommended to us and I see why. She will be helping us with everything to flowers and invitations to the last minutre before Justin sees me walk down the aisle. Hiring her took a lot of stress off of us.

On Wednesday we met with Pheobe from Season Photography. My mom and I had met her at the wedding festival and thought that they were just wonderful. I made an appointment with them and on Wednesday Justin and I met with her to see all her books and other work. She was so nice and friendly and we got great ideas. We began to start thinking about our Engagement pictures which we are going to take in September.... so we won't be burning up and miserable outside. She had a lot of great and fun ideas. On the day of the wedding she will be shooting all the main shots before the wedding and me and my wonderful bridesmaids getting ready, while her husband will be shooting Justin and the groomsmen getting ready and just having fun. We cannot wait to see how it all turns out.

To anyone planning a wedding right now... I highly reccomend both of these companies!!

Found my dress

Last night I bought "the dress".  I always watch say yes  to the dress and they are exactly right when they say when you put it on you just know.  I had tried on another dress 5 times that I was thinking was the one.  Last night before deciding on that dress I tried on a few more including the one I bought.  I tried MY dress on and I knew the second I put it on that it was the one, I didn't even want to try on another dress, but of course I did.  The next dress I put on was the one that I had already tried on 4 times before.  I felt like the dress I had tried on earlier had put it to shame.  None of the other dresses were anything compared to my wedding dress.  It is so hard to keep it a secret to what it looks like especially from Justin, but it is going to be amazing when he sees me walk down that aisle with it on for the very first time. :)

Fairytale Venue

On Sunday we went and looked at our first venue: The Acanthus on Lake Lyman.  I had being telling my parents for the last two years that was where I wanted to get married.  Seeing it in real life made me love it even more.  Justin and I as well as my parents knew this was the place we were going to get married.  We will be getting married there on May 21, 2011.  The reception is also located here and it will be around back in a large pavilion on the lake! If you want to look at some of the pictures you can go to their website!

We're Engaged!!

On May 14, 2010 Justin popped the big question. He took me down to Falls Park in Downtown Greenville. Took me to a swing and said some of the sweetest things. He told me that he wanted to love me forever and take care of me for the rest of his lives but he could not do that without one thing..... He got down on one knee and he asked me to marry him :) It was wonderful! We then walked across the street and went to dinner at an amazing restaurant called High Cotton (if you haven't eaten there you definitely need to as soon as you can!) After dinner my fiance took me on a horse and buggy ride all through downtown Greenville. It was woulderful and he definitely gave me the best proposal ever!
